THE BEST:
Life is a quagmire of opportunities and disappointments. But brethren do not despair this is not the best life that God has prepared for those who love him. God has given us and endowment called faith which when operated through love affords us overcoming victory in our spirit.
(3) For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
(4) For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
1st John 5:3-4 KJV
We have entered into the arena of the perfect law of liberty which is undergirded by the agape of God. It’s not a grievous thing to keep the morality of God’s intention for our lives; even we have indeed been transformed by the renewing of our minds. We must not only accent to but also enforce our faith through strategically applying the word of God to our lives. We must in effect abandon the worldly philosophies and mentalities for the mind of Christ which has been freely given to us through the plenary counsel of God’ Holy Writ.
(15) Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
(16) For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
(17) And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. 1st John 2:15-17 KJV
When we abandon the love of the world, we embrace the love of the Father. Lust is evil and forbidden desire and it plainly tells us if one who is engrossed in lust passes away; but the one who does God’s will abide forever. You may be thinking that God doesn’t want us to be blessed in this world; that’s not the gist of this commentary. Yes; I believe that God wants us to worship him not the blessings of serving him. But; I also believe that God does want to bless us in five areas; spiritually, mentally, physically, socially, and financially. But even these rise or fall by the decisions we make in life. If we hear and heed God’s voice through scripture, through circumstance, through spiritual gifts in operation, and through the unction of the Spirit we will make those decisions ultimately which will enhance our lives appropriately.
(9) But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.
(10) For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
(11) And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:
(12) That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. Hebrews 6:9-12 KJV
Brethren; I believe that God’s desire is strengthen and enable his children through the Spirit to overcome the world and procure his blessings for our earthly lives. However this is incumbent of our seeking first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness. Our God is a Good God! But we must realize that anything which diverts us from the holiness of God is a lure to lust after ungodly and untoward things which are an affront to God. Brethren let me exhort you to abstain from the very appearance of evil. Let me say it again; this is not the best life now; but it is the beginning of the best life if so be you are in Messiah Jesus. Let me leave you with these scriptures:
(16) Rejoice evermore.
(17) Pray without ceasing.
(18) In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
(19) Quench not the Spirit.
(20) Despise not prophesyings.
(21) Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
(22) Abstain from all appearance of evil.
(23) And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
(24) Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it. 1st Thessalonians 5:16-24 KJV
It is my hope and prayer that you will be of a positive faith filled attitude which helps you to overcome the adversities of this present life so that you may enjoy the life of the Spirit which is filled with joy unspeakable and glory to God. Selah
Shalom, Agape, & Amen!
