The Power of a mite:
When you’ve given your widow’s mite; don’t be discouraged by those who can afford to give out of the abundance they have; God takes more pleasure in the sacrifice of giving than all those who can give without sacrifice; don’t feel guilty or dismayed; give and it shall be given you more abundantly in what really matters. To hell with sanctimony and Pharisaic hypocrisy; your widow’s mite has virtue that pietism cannot match because God sees through the exterior to see the interior of the motives of the heart.
To simply give to get is not godly motive; but when it is giving to be a blessing without any ulterior motive of return; that is truly giving in a godly way.
Also to begrudge someone who earns their money honestly and earnestly is also ungodly; it is also true that those who are fortuned with abundance can also give out of the abundance of their heart too; but there are hypocrites who give out of attention from the public and the fanfare they may obtain from it. This kind of giving is Pharisaic.
(6) But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
(7) Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
(8) And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 KJV
Brethren never underestimate the power of a mite; God sees your mite and it is mighty in his sight. Let your heart be pure, your motive be virtuous, your giving be without begrudging, and your mite shall be your blessing. When your mite is the bountiful seed sown from the heart it is recorded as such and reaps grace, sufficiency, and good works to the glory of God. Selah…
