HOLDING BACK
Anyone who really knows me knows that I am someone who fights with patience. I will concede that I have much more of it than in years gone by. However, I still contend with it and I contend often. Let me say, it is one thing to have patience while waiting upon the Lord to move in a situation or circumstance and quite another to be procrastinating. Sometimes those lines get blurred and we find ourselves in a dilemma not knowing for sure whether to move forward or continue to wait.
Let me inject this into the conversation; when we are in a strait fixed between two opinions there is a opportunity for the enemy to bring in confusion. Brethren when it comes to the children of God; he is not the author of our confusion.
I have found over the years that the key is me; in other words I must persist in seeking the face of God to stay in the constant will of God for my life and purpose for being. Although I have known and can identify when others around me who were supposed to be compliant concerning what God spoke to them concerning a part or portion in bringing to pass his will in my life were in fact negligent; that still leaves me accountable for my own obedience concerning the will of God for my life. In other words, I cannot blame someone else for my own failures. Why?
God will still bring it to pass by any means that he can. For instance; if one is waiting upon a financial breakthrough God will usually speak to those around us who can help in one fashion or another to bring it to pass. However; some of those he speaks to choose to dismiss it by reason or bias of some kind. God then begins to reach out to others who then will hear or heed his voice to bring resolution to our situation.
The key is still me! I must trust that I’ve heard from God correctly and by going again to him for the answer and then committing myself to wait upon the Lord until what he has guided me to is manifested. My ultimate blessing is found in trusting the Lord and waiting upon him with contentment; which is a very hard thing in this fast pace world which is ever changing. Brethren I will be the first to admit that I am an impatient person and sometimes grow weary of waiting. I go through the gauntlet of emotions sometimes and inadvertently allow confusion to come into my situation. However; once I realize this I renew my commitment to patience which is a virtue or fruit of God’s Holy Spirit.
Apostle Paul admonished the Philippians:
Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you. (Philippians 4:9 KJV)
Brethren please remember this; you are accountable for you. Others are accountable for themselves. Therefore; always remember to set your heart upon Jesus, set your eye upon his promises, and let the peace of God which passes all understanding keep your hearts and minds. Brethren holding back is one of the greatest things we can do to booster our faith while waiting upon God for the increase to do what we are called to do in Spirit and in Truth. Selah
