Hope & Change
(5) Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. Jeremiah 17:5 KJV
The Lord himself tells us about trusting alliances of mankind, men are corrupt in the center of their being, if they are unregenerate. The bible tells us not to be unequally yoked with those who are of this world. Israel was looking to other world powers to deliver them the present eminent threat of another world power. Hence; they were trusting in Egypt to deliver them from Babylon.
Many Christians allow the threat of one thing in the world to cause them to look for help or deliverance from another thing in the world. Hence their reliance is upon the inventions, intellect, and philosophy of mankind instead of the power of God. God gives us an example in the Prophet Jeremiah to put our faith and hope for change in Him alone.
It’s not that God doesn’t use those things of the world many times to bring about resolution or what is needed, it is the simple fact that when one’s trust is in mankind’s strength and ability they’ve departed from trusting the Lord as the only viable resource for results. Our hope should rest in God just as our faith should be totally in Him.
(1) Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
(2) By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
(3) And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
(4) And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
(5) And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. Romans 5:1-5 KJV
Hope is the confidence or the expectation of something coming to pass. Hope and Faith are the arbitrators of Change, why? Because hope and faith are co-laborers which work through our love for God which strengthens our resolve to continue in the journey until we see the manifestation or the results. Faith, Hope, and most importantly Love, cause us to Trust God and Put God First! This opens the doors for God’s gifts and manifestations to bring the change we seek, the healing, the deliverance, the divine intervention.
(4) Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
(5) And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.
(6) And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
(7) But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. 1st Corinthians 12:4-7 KJV
I heard someone preach this years ago, “ if flesh produces it; flesh will have to maintain it, but if the Spirit produces it; the Spirit will maintain it ‘. So, if the you trust in the flesh the flesh will have to maintain your experience and ultimately it is doomed to failure because God will not bless a mess that trust is in flesh! Cursed is the person who trusts in man and make flesh their strength. If we want Change that produces Godly Manifestations we will have to trust God with all our being and rely upon his strength to carry us to that place of triumph and victory. Selah!
