"Prepare thy work without, and make it fit for thyself in the field; and afterwards build thine house." Proverbs 24:27 (KJV)
DON’T DO ANYTHING IN LIFE WITHOUT A PLAN; AND DON’T PLAN ANYTHING IN LIFE WITHOUT A PRAYER!
Prepare your work outside, and make it fit for yourself in the field; and afterwards build your house. Proverbs 24:27
As I was praying out in the yard in the Spirit and in the Understanding; then I got a call from one of my brothers; we were talking about a recent word he gave me concerning going back to the drawing board. Unfortunately we didn’t get to discuss it before he had to get off the phone. But; God dropped this verse into my heart at the beginning of the week. Recently I have been talking about being on the brink of a breakthrough and had thought it was concerning the doors opening for a residence and to pastor a church in Colorado. I haven’t pastored a church in quite some time and have been doing revivals and missions for some years now. Yet God opened many opportunities to come along side of some ministries and to produce a television program during these years. So naturally I was thinking he is getting ready to fulfill the vision I have of pastoring in my latter years and finally settling down to one place. You know I have lived on both coasts; in California, and in Florida and Virginia which are coastal States; also in Indiana where I was raised, and in Kentucky and Arizona. Anyway; concerning the above scripture I thought all these years I had been preparing the work and making it ready to build the house of God which includes the house of Ritchie. I told my brother every time I pray I go back to the drawing board; in his mind he was saying that as a superintendent when something isn’t working they go back to the drawing board and figure out why they cannot work the plan. This principle can work both in the spiritual and secular realms.
The bible clearly says that preparations are in the heart of a man; but the Lord orders his steps! We must by all means be a people who plan; but when the plans do not come about there are different factors to consider. There are people in life that when sometime doesn’t happen they start trying to push it to happen; in the work place that is good if it doesn’t affect the safety of the people and the quality of the finished product. However in the spiritual realm there are times to push and times to wait. I am a praying man; and once I get the flesh out of the way I am able to hear God clearly. I have found that if God chooses He doesn’t have to answer any of my prayers; He is God and I am not! But I can continue to pray about the subject and when God chooses He will reveal to me when, how, where, and why so I can move forward. It dawned on me that God is showing me something about the field; if I am hearing right; I am supposed to stay in the field for a bit longer. Yet I have clear plans of the vision God gave me and know that in due season they shall come forth and those who’ve followed us in this journey shall rejoice with us and be glad. Several people have expressed that they could not do what we are doing at this time; one brother calls me Abraham and that is exactly who I feel like at this time. Yet there is a joy within me now that hasn’t been there for quite some time.
God is the Guide we are the followers; those who are led by the Spirit they are the sons and daughters of God. May God entrust to you the true riches of this life and you shall have peace in the depths of your soul. Selah
