CHRISTIANITY AMERICAN STYLE
What does the gospel teach? Isn’t that supposed to be the guide of our lives? The word of God is breathed from the heart of God to a people who’ve accepted Him as God. It is written to the people of God; sinners only perceive it as a book written by men and do not believe in the divinity of the Word who was made flesh; the incarnation for our salvation; hence they do not receive its precepts or its principles.
Years ago there was a program called “Love American Style” which always had plenty of fornicators and sexual innuendos threaded throughout the shows; it was part of breaking down the moral fiber of biblical spirituality and many were succumbed into lukewarm living that compromised their faith. Today we are experiencing Christianity American Style and many have two standards of living; the first is their public persona of being a Christian while the second is their active participation in and of worldly principles and philosophies which have been integrated into the faith which are not biblical but for the most part following the American Dream and the unwritten tenets of its rules which any motivational speaker can stand on a podium and orate; which caters to the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes; and the pride of life. This renders true Christianity into a vacuum which actually cuts it off from the world as a means to save the lost.
Many in Christendom follow and support false preachers, teachers, and prophets today who lead God’s sheep astray because they’ve bought into the lies and deception; and those very same ones will end up in hell because they did not pick up their cross and follow Christ according to his command; yes I said command! When a preacher can stand before television cameras and prick his thumb while another so called expert on covenant rituals pricks his thumb and both of them squeeze blood into a communion cup and the audience cheers and applauds; there is something desperately wrong period! To watch blatant blaspheme and applaud and keep supporting it is to the shame of those who continue to follow such charlatans. No one is allowed to mix their blood with the symbolistic emblem of the blood of Christ in the communion cup! But of course we’re talking about Christianity American Style.
When those who advocate for their best life now; a philosophy that has nothing to do with biblical Christianity can become a multi-millionaires while watering down the gospel of holiness and then subtly support abominable lifestyles and even saying there are many ways to God and Jesus is just one of them; to support just a false teacher is to be just as guilty as they are in their schemes against God. Even when it comes to the average Joe Christian; he has been so deceived by the Americanized gospel; he is totally selfish and can’t see past his own little inner circles which also supports the false gospel which they proclaim and live for themselves and do not have compassion for anyone outside their realm of delusion.
One preacher use to shout “I’m going to get mine” and would say it again “y’all better get out of my way cause I’m going to get mine”. Most families today declare “It’s us first and everyone else second”. Where do these people read this in the Bible? You can’t be like Jesus and be totally all about YOU! What we have in pulpits today in America especially on television for the most is “American Idols” who are worshiped by their followers and led astray because these preachers are imposters transforming themselves into angels of light. Once you’re indoctrinated they prey upon you and only have their own life at interest. They proceed to take one’s livelihood one con at a time. All the while true ministers of the gospel are put off as judgmental and condemning because they preach Christ and Christ crucified and that we are supposed to pick up our cross daily and follow Christ. For this they are vanquished and cast off as haters.
The gospel in some cases is so polluted that there are now Christian Witches, Homosexual Pastors, and Mediums which are accepted into the fold and there are some preachers which have reached such popularity that their obvious immorality is overlooked because their message agrees with their audience. When a preacher shares a platform with an obvious infidel concerning the faith; and accepts that person as a colleague; again something is dead wrong; we have Christianity American Style! The devil has successfully integrated “the power of positive living” into the gospel which is a product of the “new thought” movement that started in the mid-1800s and when popular new thought psychology was gaining ground in the world.
There are many so-called spiritual movements today that focus on miracles, signs, and wonders which are false because they originate from the devil that can also perform miracles, signs, and wonders. This focus distracts because the gospel of salvation is lost in the maze of the miraculous; and of course the pastor or church which has all this happening becomes the darling of those who don’t want gospel discipline but the supernatural manifestations which make them feel good all the time; to the detriment of their souls. I do not like Christianity American Style; but I love the gospel which changed my hardened heart and brought me to a loving Savior who has become the Lord of my life; I follow Him! I don’t follow spiritual fads that fade away until some new things happens; Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever!
In some instances a church is so like the world in the conducting of its services one cannot tell if they’re in a night club or a house of worship and many in music ministry have turned it in to a means for celebrity abandoning true worship which is directed to God. This is a part of Christianity American Style and no longer resembles a house of worship which exalts Christ and his Gospel above all things; the Word of God is true and to be heeded above movements, fades, and artificial and counterfeit miracle, signs, and wonders!
I am a patriot; but I refuse to worship my country or worship its flag or worship a man in the White House; I love my country, I love our flag, and I love President Trump’s politics! But to put these above our worship of God is Christianity American Style.
Yes He is a miracle working God; but the greatest miracle is the salvation of the soul and to walk the narrow path of salvation being crucified with Christ. Yes He is a God who heals and a God who blesses abundantly; but as I study the scriptures I have seen that when Israel was blessed by God and favor came to them; they began to worship the blessings of God and not the one that Blessed! Let us examine ourselves to see if we are in the faith or not; let us strive to bless God. Selah
