Toxic Behavior?
Just because it’s not outright, doesn’t always mean it’s upright! Private perversion is still prodigal poison. Toxic behavior is sin of the soul whether it’s done in plain view or behind closed doors. Every apostasy begins with one step, and before one knows it, they praise God with their lips but their hearts are far from Him.
Pretended public piety and private perversion becomes the norm. Why? Anything that takes priority over our relationship with The Lord and is exalted to a level of practice above true worship is perverted, disoriented, and misguided. Jesus Said:
“ And he said unto them, You are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knows your hearts; for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination is the sight of God ” Luke 16:15
Prayer is a priority when it comes to becoming the person we need to be, and should be concerning the example we set before others.
The little foxes spoil the vine, in other words it’s not always the obvious things which are the things which undermine our relationship and pervert our walk with Christ. Toxic and nontoxic water doesn’t come from the same well, either it will be bitter or sweet. Many Christians are nontoxic until something happens in their lives, then bitter or toxic behavior comes to the surface. Jesus Said:
“ These things I have spoken unto you, that in me you might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 KJV
Time spent in his presence privately will cause us to be more like Him in public through every circumstance, because his nature is nontoxic our nature will become nontoxic. We will learn to rejoice and be exceedingly glad; because we have a peace that is so deep and founded in the love of Christ. Prayer is a key that helps us to realize and eradicate those toxic behaviors which inhibit our progress.
Remember; just because it’s not outright, doesn’t mean it’s upright! Selah!
