TRUST IN GOD
And he said, "Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return there. The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away. Blessed be the name of the LORD." Job 1:21
After Job literally lost all his sons and daughters and his livelihood he was able to say blessed be the name of the Lord. His mentality; even though he did not understand what was going on was: the Lord gave it and the Lord has taken it away.
In all this, Job did not sin and did not charge God with wrongdoing. Job 1:22
Many in the world today blame God for the first thing that doesn’t go there way, or have a tragedy and actually keep pointing the finger at God for years! The word of God is clear about God’s sovereignty; yet we are in a world which was handed over willfully to the Adversary through an act of sin. We fine that Job did not sin when he refuse to foolishly blame God for wrongdoing. Let us learn a lesson of God’s love; he has set bounds upon our afflictions and without his permission the enemy cannot take anything or hurt us in any way. Yet that doesn’t me we won’t ever be tried, tempted, or go through excruciating tribulation. However when those things do come to try us we’re supposed to count it all joy which causes us to be more than conquerors through Christ Jesus.
We should be secure in the sovereignty of God! Although suffering is fertile soil for sinning; yet when our faith is firmly and deeply rooted within the soul the external circumstances cannot change its nature. Hence the mouth will speak out of the abundance of the heart. When one with full self-resignation from the attachments of this physical realm when faced with the loss of those things can say with full resolution it has happened; the Lord gives and the Lord takes away; blessed be the name of the Lord. One then has arrived at a point of faith that is not lacking in their dependence upon God totally and thoroughly.
Brethren; our God is supreme in that he can give and take away. Our life is in Him and He has put His life in us! He is sovereign and we must put our faith in him during the worst of times and the best of times. Sometimes we don’t understand why certain things happen in our lives. But we do understand the providence of God. He loves his children and gives them incomprehensible peace in every facet of life when we trust in him with all of our heart. Jesus told the disciples to bring peace with them into any house they entered. How did they establish that peace being manifest? They prayed, they praised, and they proclaimed it until it settled in that residence and that peace became the springboard for the preaching of the gospel. When you know your God and you understand his heart; it will define your purpose and give you profound love, perfect peace, and perpetual power to contend for the faith against the gainsayers who place blame and accuse us without the true discernment of God.
