GOD TIME!
Sometimes we just need seclusion from everything that is electronic, high tech, or smart phones. We just need to be alone so that we can push into the presence of the Holy Spirit. Why? Because; concerning those things; they can be sometimes distractions from getting into the presence of God. Church fellowship and worship are a must for a healthy spirituality; but, one also needs personal private worship as well. When we push everything out of our minds in order to press into the mind of Christ; we acquire a mindset that allows us to hear the voice of God and pour out our heart to the heart of God.
One of the best ways for me is to grab my guitar and start praising God and praying to God in song. Many times I sense the presence of God and begin to weep as I continue to praise, pray, and perceive the voice of God speaking to me. It is those private times that produce the manifest will of God for my life.
Yet when I miss that connection I lose all direction for the perfect will of God other than what is obvious in the word of God. I love this scripture and try to conform to its wisdom daily.
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer. Psalms 19:14
My words shouldn’t be exaggerated, full of pretense, or deceptively flattering. They should be the embodiment of truth springing forth from a heart that meditates upon the precepts of virtue. Our words should be seasoned in the Spirit and perpetuate edification speaking the truth in love.
The Word of God is the Christ of God
(12) For the Word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of both soul and spirit, and of both the joints and the marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intents of the heart.
(13) And there is not a created thing that is not manifest in His sight; but all things are naked and laid bare before the eyes of Him to Whom we must give account. Hebrews 4:12-13
When the words of our mouth and the meditation of our hearts bind together in unified obedience; our actions will declare his handiwork and the image of Christ stamped upon our consciousness as the guiding light of love and humility. God speaks to us personally when we seek him privately; not that he can’t use someone who is gifted with prophecy; but they speak more for confirmation into our lives than a declaration. Brethren when we truly seek his face and understand that we always have an audience with him; and we pursue him with a whole heart; we ask and receive, we seek and we find, we knock and it is opened up to us. Yet we must take on humility and a servant’s heart and mind. Just like Jesus did!
(7) Then I said, "Lo, I come; in the volume of the book it is written of Me;
8) I delight to do Your will, O My God; and Your law is within My heart."
(9) I have preached righteousness in the great congregation; lo, I have not kept back my lips, O LORD, You know.
(10) I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart; I have declared Your faithfulness and Your salvation; I have not hidden Your lovingkindness and Your truth from the great congregation.
(11) Do not withhold Your tender mercies from me, O LORD; let Your lovingkindness and Your truth always preserve me, Psalms 40:7-11
What do we find in the presence of the Lord? Truth! Why do we need to find truth? It preserves us! How do we arrive at the place of preservation? Delight to do his will!
How am I set at odds with others? When I walk in the perfect will of God! God’s will may include others but many times others do their own will and when one seeks their own will they set themselves against God’s will.
The human will is self-centered and self-serving; it doesn’t have the mind of God infused until it relinquishes it to God through obedience. What does this accomplish? Peace which passes comprehension! If one does not have peace (I am not talking about a life void of conflict) which is stabilizing which is a calm in the midst of the raging storm; then that person is not in the center of God’s will or they’re allowing the enemy to shoot fiery darts of doom and destruction into their minds not taking up the shield of faith to quench all those darts of doom.
Conclusion: brethren are you seeking God privately and personally for the benefit of a healthy relationship with the Lord? God spoke to Jeremiah directly and he will speak to us directly as well but there are conditions.
(11) For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
(12) Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
(13) And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:11-13
If we go to God with a half heart we will get halfhearted results; but when we go with a whole heart and we’re ready to enter into his presence with thanksgiving and praise and throw the clock and the world out; that’s when we will have God’s ear and God will have our ear as well. Selah
