GOD’ PLANS VERSES THE PLANS OF MAN:
I believe the scriptures which came out of the Holy Spirit through the Apostle Paul are providential in regards to our times as well has the days he lived. Paul was used greatly and from the scriptures he evidently had time before his demise to tell us he had fought the good fight of faith and that he had finished his course and was ready to be offered up; he did not fear but faced his fate with faith. It is reminiscent of what was written to the Church in Philippi.
(3) I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,
(4) Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy,
(5) For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now;
(6) Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: Philippians 1:3-6 KJV
I am sure those words echoed through Christendom upon the news of Paul’s demise at the hand of Caesar. Yet we must look primarily at the lack of fear or concern for his own life as he faced his cruel end. Today we are in the midst of a campaign of fear mongering. Violence is everywhere and fear of disease which is being used to quash any semblance of normality in our lives: especially in the United States at this time. Yet; brethren it’s not time to decline; but to shine more than ever!
(6) Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.
(7) For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
(8) Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;
(9) Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
(10) But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:
(11) Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles. 2nd Timothy 1:6-11
“God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind”. In the day of adversity he emboldens us to stand in the power and might of the Lord. We are not called to coward but to tower above everything that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. A sound mind is a spiritual mind that is able to discern things from a spiritual perspective. A sound mind analyses current events from a biblical perspective. We pray to God for an account of what is happening prophetically; having read the scriptures we have an insight of the present and then apply our knowledge accordingly. Jesus came to baptize us in the Holy Spirit and the attributes of the Holy Spirit reside in us as they did in Him.
(2) And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;
(3) And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: Isaiah 11:2-3 KJV
Those who seek the Lord’s face can be made quick in their understanding; getting insight directly from the throne of God. Presently we are engaged in a great conflict; but yet we are aligned with God’s chosen people as a nation. There are prophetic utterances ushered in the mouths of many that are false and then there are the voices of those who have truly been in God’s presence and hear clearly the voice of God. Scripture is the foremost authority and as we look to it; therein lays the answer of these prophetic times. The wicked one is raising his evil head to engage the saints of God and is the basis of the present movement for domination. Many of his pawns don’t even realize how they’re being used and will perish in the scheme of things. But as we see these things unfold God wants to assure us that what he has called us to do; he will complete if we do not faint in the way. He is a God of covenant.
(5) According to the word that I covenanted with you when ye came out of Egypt, so my spirit remaineth among you: fear ye not. Haggai 2:5 KJV
The point the scripture makes is that God made a covenant with us when we came out of sin “Egypt” and his Spirit remains within us; therefore fear not! Once we allow fear to fester it is a cancer that eats at our faith. My bible teaches me that “The Father” has set all times and seasons to be fulfilled in his timing. We cannot change the sovereign will of God or the destiny it will bring; but we can be secure in the knowledge that he has secured us in that thing which he wants to complete in us if we do not faint in the way. We have God’s protection even if we suffer persecution or sickness or anything that comes against us: we will be victorious. If we must fear let it be the fear of the Lord which is spiritually healthy for our spiritual lives.
(1) Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. 2nd Corinthians 7:1 KJV
We receive the peace of God when we have a fear of God because we cleanse ourselves through the power of God; then we can hear the voice of God. God will deal with our enemies in due season!
(18) According to their deeds, accordingly he will repay, fury to his adversaries, recompence to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompence.
(19) So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.
(20) And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD.
(21) As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever. Isaiah 59:18-21 KJV
We are assured that the Lord is immutable! He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. His character is something we can count on! The word of God is sure making wise the simple. When we study to show ourselves approved unto God; he opens our minds to the mind of Christ which yields to us knowledge and understanding to live in perilous times. Brethren do not fear them who can only hurt or kill the body; fear the Lord who can cast your soul into everlasting torment. Don’t let fear become a sin in your life; yes a sin; why? Fear says you don’t trust God and that you believe the situation is greater than God. Fear makes it evident to our enemies that we truly don’t have the faith we say we have. Brethren; now more than ever it is time to put the full armor of God on and stand up and be counted among the soldiers of the Cross! Selah
Shalom, Agape, and Amen!
