THOUGHTS OF MIND
(14) But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
(15) Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. James 1:14-15 KJV
If it is just one thought and quickly eradicated it is definitely just a temptation dealt with through our spiritual mind; but when we allow it to draw us away and entice us: the impregnation of that lust births sin and when that sin is fully developed it brings death to bear. God truly want to fill our thought life with the Word of God. Our thought life as spiritual recreations is important to our spiritual development! As Spirit Filled people we now possess the mind of Christ in all things which pertain to life and godliness. Prayer is essential to possessing that strong mind that counters the projectiles of wicked thoughts; it increases the strength of the shield of our faith to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. As one has said “birds may fly over our heads but we don’t have to let them nest”. I love the next two verses in relationship to thought life. Presumption is a preconception which can be a preposition before having a full knowledge of something or someone and the Psalmist writes “let them not have dominion over me” a fleshly opinion should never have dominion over the truth of the word of God.
(13) Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.
(14) Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer. Psalms 19:13-14 KJV
In the beginning of Matthew chapter seven we’re told not to judge hypocritically. We’re not supposed to condemn others for those things we’re practicing in our own lives; it is arrogant to say the least. Self-righteousness doesn’t benefit anyone and deflects from the true righteousness of God. Remember we are all going through the process of sanctification and being cleansed daily by the blood of Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Yet; as we grow we become victorious over the lust of the flesh, the eyes, and the pride of self. With pride come defiance and a skewed sense of superiority. The Christian life submitted to the spiritual principles and laws that bring us into submission to the Spirit and into a lifestyle of humility. Our lives then interact and are intertwined with the lives of other Christians who are at various stages of infant, juvenile, or mature faith. We learn the false and the factual attributes of a person’s spiritual life by examination of the fruit they bear in their lives. We cannot judge the eternal destination of a person; that is God’s decision; for he knows the heart of every person. Yet; the same Jesus the Son of the Living God warned us to beware of false and phony prophets and those who following their erroneous ways. How? We know them by their fruits which either line up or deviate from the Word of God.
(15) Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
(16) Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
(17) Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
(18) A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
(19) Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
(20) Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Matthew 7:15-20
Brethren today more than ever the lines are blurred concerning the faith; there are so many different denominations, movements, and cults that are diluting scripture or replacing it altogether. Concerning the Gospel of Jesus Christ it is most certainly an age of apostasy. When we begin to deviate from the gospel we are setting a course for apostasy and spiritual ruin. Let us be mindful who and what we embrace in these times of deception; there are many who are striving to enter in at the straight gate. Let us remember where apostasy begins!
(14) But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
(15) Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. James 1:14-15 KJV
May God bless the reading of the Word and touch the sincere heart; let transformation come and growth be the result! In the mighty Name of Jesus! Amen!
