PEACE BE STILL
Life is one breath at a time; one cannot bring back the last breath, or breathe a future breath in advance. The bible teaches us not to be anxious for anything; it is an imperative prohibition to cease from anxiety. Anxiety is an apprehension which is an overwhelming and abnormal sense of impending fearful anticipation hence; it is an underlying fear which it is antithetical to faith.
Hope is the brother of faith which is undergirded by love. When we enter into his presence with praise, when we approach him with thanksgiving, when we yield our will to his; the peace of God transcends our own power of thought and we are ushered into his prevailing presence of joy. Then we can begin to pray and petition without apprehension; but in the fullness of faith. In this atmosphere we find the mind of God and the will of God for our lives without the emotional manifestations of the carnal mind.
(6) Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
(7) And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 KJV
Brethren, remember God is all knowing and his wisdom is infinite; nothing takes him by surprise. He knows the end from the beginning and all that is in between. We can come boldly to the throne of grace to receive mercy and grace in times of need. We can have assurance that he has already paved a path for our lives and our part is to trust and obey him in every avenue of the process. He gives us a diagram for our mental and emotional peace.
(8) Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
(9) Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you. Philippians 4:8-9 KJV
Brethren let me ask you; has your mind been spiritualized through the predication of setting it upon these wonderful thoughts of virtue. What is the meditation of your mind? What occupies your thoughts influences your heart and rules your life.
(5) For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
(6) For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
(7) Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
(8) So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. Romans 8:5-8 KJV
When we were born again we became new creatures with a new mind which dwells upon the things of the Spirit. Understanding; that our thoughts have transforming power when they are based upon the word of God. Let us remember that Jesus taught us that his words are spirit and life; when we commit our mind to the word the word renews our minds to follow after spiritual virtues and forsake the death yielding virtues of carnality.
The flesh tends to the appetites, sympathies, and propensities of the body and mental pleasures derived from serving self and body. We are doomed when the body rules the intellect and conscience too. But when the body becomes subordinate to the spirit, through the renewing of the mind on a constant basis, the wellspring of life is abundant; then love, peace, and joy are the products which result in a singleness of heart and mind.
Brethren keep the faith today by setting your affection on things above and the things below will in affect yield what we need in this life.
Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. (Psalms 16:11 KJV)
Brethren I pray you will take heed and be healed in the spirit of your mind, it is God’s desire to make us whole in spirit, mind, and body. Selah
Shalom, Agape, & Amen!
