GOD MY GUIDE
Recently while visiting in California I was seeking God for direction. I was in need of certain objectives for my life. I found comfort in the presence and company of my wife as we read scripture together, prayed together, worshipped the Lord in song and music, and expounded upon the scriptures and the will of God.
In the course of my visit I received a wonderful word of guidance which was phenomenal and so encouraging; I believe it was a divinely ordained connection and manifestation of God’s Guidance. Many of from time to time may know God’s will but struggle with the dynamics of seeing it come to pass. So we in effect ask God for a CD with every step described in detail down to the smallest point. But God doesn’t send us CDs which are detailed because he has sent us his word which pertains to all things in life and godliness. However for our individual will we must seek his face in prayer. The revelation gifts are unleashed when we seek them from a foundation of personally asking, seeking, and knocking in prayer.
Prayer produces our prime directives concerning the will of God; and he often speaks directly to us when we seek his face. However when we are in the process; we often find ourselves in need of confirmation. The success comes through our diligence to keep asking, seeking, and knocking. God will bring us confirmation through the gifting of another person often times; he wants to establish his will for our lives in the mouth of two or three witnesses.
In life I have consolation because I am saved; in the spirit I have received confirmation because I am seeking. God wants us to know his purpose for our life; but he also wants us to know how to accomplish it through pursuing him fervently and earnestly.
The key is engaging God and waiting upon him in prayer which is a dialogue not a monologue. Prayer is a conversation not a dissertation but two way communication. There is a still small voice that is gentle but firm, it is a voice that leads and discerns; it is a voice like no other; it is the voice of the Holy Spirit. When we hear it we should heed it. When our heart reaches out in prayer; let peace still us and settle us and stop us till we hear that comforting, confirming, and consummating voice. God is our Guide:
I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. (Psalms 32:8 KJV)
God is all seeing and all knowing; he knows the end from the beginning and he is a personal God of individuality. He knows all his children by name and his providence has already been established. Take comfort; but push forward in the knowledge that God cares for his own. Brethren keep the faith today by walking in the light you have while seeking for the light you need. God has not forgotten you; he is going before you and at the appointed time; he will inform you, arm you, and establish you in his perfect will. Selah
Shalom, Agape, & Amen!
