NEW CREATION?
Today I am a person of interest in the eyes of the Lord, my God is very interested in me. He spoke through his word and his ministers that he has a plan for my life. He has an expected end, and good things in store for me as I follow on to know him more intimately.
One man’s love gospel is full of sloppy agape, while another man’s rigid religious gospel is full of strict rules and regulations, while another man’s works gospel is full of works that will tilt the balances to their salvation.
I personally hate the sloppy agape approach, because it is misleading about the character of God’s nature, and usually excuses the inexcusable and the unrepentant sinner. I also detest the rigid religious approach because more times than not, it is the personal convictions of those who preach this gospel and not doctrinal truths. Also those who think they can bypass the remorse, recanting, and repentance of sins just by doing more good deeds than bad deeds will have a rude awakening on Judgment Day.
I once was lost, but now I am found. When I came to Jesus I came as a sinner in need of a Savior, one who was on his way to a devil’s hell. I repented of my sins, asked Jesus to come into my heart, and forgive me of my sins. I was ashamed of the sins I had committed and did not want to continue in sin. I went through different phases of religiosity, much of what I mentioned above. But I found that when I was born again, the nature to sin was changed within me, I do not live a lifestyle of sin, although I have occasionally fallen into sin.
The life I am now living is through the Son of God who gave his life for me, that even though I am living, I am dead, because the life I now live is through the Spirit of the Living God. I am crucified with Christ, crucified in Christ, and abide in Him by the Spirit; by which I am able to obey the Heavenly Father in word and in deed.
Pure piety is to worship the Lord in Spirit and in Truth, to live by the Spirit is to be enabled to walk in step and sync with the word of God. There is a longing to serve him in true worship which is the acceptance of our religious duties in considering the Fatherless and Widows in Affliction, and by keeping ourselves unspotted from the world.
The religious service which is pure and stainless in the sight of our God and Father is to visit fatherless children and widowed women in their time of trouble, and to keep one's own self unspotted from the world. James 1:27 WNT
James talked about pure religion, ( threskeia ) Greek for the word religion, and it also means worshipping. The word which it is derived from is threkos ) which means { pious } or in other words ceremonious observance or demonstrative service.
James also wrote by inspiration or the very mind of God, show me your faith without works, and I will show you my faith by my works. In other words ( good works ) are the product of our spiritual rebirth not the cause of them. We are in grace pure and undefiled, in word and in deed because our nature is brand new, to be born again means born from above and if we are reborn from above we have the nature of the new, not the remodeling of the old.
Brethren keep the faith today by the constant surrender of your mind to the word and will of God
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:2
Many today operate in the flesh believing they are operating in the Spirit, honestly it can happen to all of us, especially with so many different gospels that are deceptively leading those who embrace them astray. These are the last of the last days. We must stay diligent to keep our relationship alive with our Heavenly Father. As we grow closer to Him, we will be more reflective of His attributes within our own lives. We are New Creations born again of the Spirit of Life and Liberty, the freedom to be what we are meant to be. Full of the love and life of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Selah!
