WHAT A WONDERFUL NAME!
(12) Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:12 KJV
Wow! If we had been there in the time that the Apostle Peter had spoken this to the Sanhedrim we would realize the significance of the emphasize upon the name of Jesus. Since ancient times the Israelis thought and were taught that the name of God was too sacred to pronounce or even say aloud. Therefore they only wrote the four consonants of the name of God, and replaced his name with Adonai for LORD.
But we as New Testament Christians have the privilege of using the Name of Jesus, the very name of salvation to use as a powerful weapon in our spiritual arsenal. When we believe on and in the Name of Jesus we are equipped to overthrow the enemies of our faith and fashion of life.
(12) But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: John 1:12 KJV
We can not only say the name, but also believe on the name, and when we receive the name as of the name of our LORD, our Savior, and our God, we receive power to stand on that name knowing we are secure in that name. We become the children of the Most High God through believing Jesus is the Sinless Savior who is has secure our salvation through laying down his life in our place. Then the name of Jesus becomes the power behind our prayers, the power behind our justification, the power behind our sanctification, the power behind our victories, because Jesus is the Living Word, the Living Water, and the Living Warrior.
(12) For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12 KJV
Jesus is the incarnation the word made flesh for our salvation, He is the Sword of the Spirit and the Spirit of the Sword. It is He whom has given us his name that we might win in warfare of those spiritual forces which are set in battle against us whom manifest in those things and beings around us. The Word is a Sword of Light that disperses the darkness, the Word, the Sword, and the Name are all the same; JESUS!
(31) But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. John 20:31 KJV
Brethren if we have the Name we are equipped, to pray, to battle, to live, to receive, and to heal, for the Name is our resource for results in this life. Remember there is power in the Name of Jesus! Selah!
